By The results are in…and we are Ecstatic!
It’s official! Our first annual Halloween Candy Toy Exchange was an enormous success! On Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, The Brush Stop Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics opened its doors to the community for a fun afternoon of face painting, professional photoshoots, and a candy toy exchange! The Brush Stop Dental has officially opened their doors and is now accepting new smiles to the practice! Dr. Jenna Khoury, Pediatric Dentist in San Marcos was so happy to see so many familiar faces from San Elijo Hills, La Costa, Encinitas and Del Mar and many other surrounding areas in the North County region of San Diego, CA.
The candy collected weighed in at over 112 pounds! That’s right…one HUNDRED and twelve pounds! That’s the size of a teenager! Just imagine folks, there is roughly 30 pieces of candy per pound, which would mean the kids in our community, donated over 3,300 pieces of candy! That’s three thousand, three hundred pieces of candy less in the mouths and bodies of our children! With type II diabetes on the rise in children, this is a giant leap in the right direction!
What did we do with all that candy? The candy was donated to the troops abroad, in order to give them a little piece of home while they are away protecting our freedom.
San Diego was so impressed with the youth in our community that the news stations, Fox 5, KUSI, and CBS came out to do a segment on the practice that can be seen below!
